Team Ninja Video Clip Teases Next Game
Tecmo Koei's Team Ninja has released a short teaser clip that appears to show Ninja Gaiden hero Ryu Hayabusa taking a slightly disturbing blood shower.
We don't know anything about the as-yet-untitled game other than the contents of a terse press release from the publisher. It's not a mainline Ninja Gaiden title, [EDIT: I misread the press release. Yeah, this is probably Ninja Gaiden III. My apologies!] It stars "one of the studio's most iconic characters" who we have to assume is Ryu, and is being created under the leadership of new Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi.
The clip ends with the enigmatic tagline "unmask." Perhaps we'll get a chance to see deeper into Ryu's character at the planned hands-on sessions at E3 this summer.
Ninja Gaiden franchise guru Tomonobu Itagaki, of course, parted ways with Tecmo Koei and Team Ninja last year in a flurry of lawsuits and recriminations. The eccentric developer is currently working on Devil's Third with his new company, Valhalla Game Studios.
