The lights are on
For the last year or so, PlayStation 3 commercials have ended with a similar phrase emphasizing the system's many functionalities: "It Only Does Everything." In 2011, they'll be shifting gears to a new message that they want on gamers minds.
The new marketing slogan focus -- "Only On PlayStation" -- was revealed by Sony senior brand manager Scott McCarthy in an interview with Industry Gamers. McCarthy said that where as "It Only Does Everything" was a message focused on selling hardware, "Only On PlayStation" will be more about the software, highlighting such major 2011 PS3 exclusives as Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Twisted Metal, and Uncharted 3.
According to McCarthy, this year presents "the strongest lineup we've ever had." Looking back over that list, I find it kind of difficult to argue. Does the idea of Sony pushing these games that are "Only On PlayStation" make you happy to own a PS3 (or want to purchase one if you don't)?
It seems the be the right slogan this year for the PS3. I AM happy to own a PS3, but I wouldn't care if all those games were multiplatform (although I would care if they were other console exclusives XD).
I like it. I think it'll really help show off Sony's amazing lineup.
heck yeah ps3 has a butt load of great titles out for this year, and psp is getting a lot too. good for sony.
Sounds familiar. Like Nintendo has used this phrase before on their N64 game boxes - Only on N64.
Sooooo Sony is doing what Microsoft has already been doing for their exclusive games and content for ex. Halo and CoD map packs a month before PS3. Nice one Sony if you can't beat em.....copy their ad campaigns. I like it.
its a good idea because my cousin would always argue with me about games that where only on a one system, one time he even argued that ratchet and clank future was only on 360.
Hey as long as they make great games for the PS3, any slogan will do :)
Not like I care, I already have a PS3 so them telling me its only on PS3 isn't going to change anything. I'm not going to be able to get it for my 360 and I'm not buying another PS3 so I can only imagine that it's their attempt to make the commercials more focused on the games and tell everyone with only a 360 that if you want to play Uncharted 3, well get a PS3 then because it's the only way. Doesn't make me happy to own a PS3 to answer the question, it's just pretty much stating the obvious
Sony's 2012 marketing slogan: "Only On Everything"
So they are going to say what MS says? MS says Only Xbox 360 all the time. So Sony, like Microsoft will mislead consumers.
Already own a 360, PS3, and a Wii. One way or another, all games find their way onto other consoles. Case in point: Mass Effect 2. Another case: Final Fantasy XIII and Tekken 6. See where I'm going with this?
Why can't microsoft get their heads out of their arses and get games like PS3? That stupid Kinect ain't worth the gas money spent to drive to the store and buy it.
PlayStation 3 is THE console to own. All of the good games are on the system. Xbox has what, Viiva Piniata and Halo (which isnt even coming out with any more games)Plus Bungie is working on a new game for PlayStation. PS3 wins and pwns noobs.
HAppy Ps3 OWNER!! wouldn't change it for the nothing... except maybe a ps4
It only doing everything was not enough. Get me a line up of top quality games that I just have to play that are only on PS3 (Heavy Rain, Uncharted, GOW) Now we're talking. The PS3 only does everything, but so does the 360. GEt me a lineup and now you got me interested. Silly sony, Great Games make a platform.
