Sins Of A Solar Empire To Enter "New Era" In 2011

by Adam Biessener on Feb 22, 2011 at 09:00 AM

Stardock's 2010 Customer Report dropped a tease about upcoming announcements for Sins of a Solar Empire. The surprise hit space real-time strategy title won many fans at and since its 2008 release, and apparently Stardock and developer Ironclad Games have more tricks up their sleeves.

The report, released this afternoon, hints that there will be "important announcements" about the game later this year, and that "Sins of a Solar Empire will be entering a new era."

We don't know anything else about what's happening with Sins, but the simple fact that there is more work being done on the franchise is enough to get us stoked.

Stardock's most recent title, Elemental: War of Magic, was a huge disappointment, but don't let that poison your opinion of Sins of a Solar Empire. Sins is the one of the most innovative, polished, and well-balanced strategy titles of any stripe to come out in recent years. Its mix of tactical RTS battles with 4X-like real-time space empire expansion should not be missed.

Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity contains the base game and its two micro-expansions, and is available at the digital retailer of your choice for $39.95.
