Retro Game Challenge 2 Fan Translation In The Works

by Tim Turi on Feb 22, 2011 at 11:30 AM

I'm a gigantic fan of Retro Game Challenge, Indieszero's awesome collection of vintage-inspired games. I poured countless hours into Guadia Quest and Robot Ninja Haggleman 3 and would love to invest my time into the follow up. Unfortunately the game is stuck over in Japan, and the U.S. publisher of the first title, Xseed, has yet to step up to the plate. Despite the Japanese-only game lacking a Western distributor, a group of dedicated fans is working on a translation of the game.

Hacker Xvirus has found a way to alter Retro Game Challenge 2's (Game Center CX: Arino's Challenge 2 in Japan) text, and with the help of four translators, a graphic designer, and an editor, the project may come to fruition. If you're as interested in the project as I am, be sure to bookmark this website and check in as they periodically update their progress.
