The lights are on
The 3DS goes on sale March 27, but until now Nintendo's been mum about what games will be accompanying its North American launch. That changed this morning, with the reveal of the complete launch lineup. In addition to first-party games Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, and Nintendogs + Cats, shoppers will have 15 more third-party games to choose from.
Here's the complete 18-game lineup:
• Pilotwings Resort (Nintendo)• Steel Diver (Nintendo)• Nintendogs + Cats (Nintendo)• Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom)• The Sims 3 (EA)• Madden NFL Football (EA Sports)• Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.)• LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts)• RIDGE RACER 3D (Namco Bandai)• Super Monkey Ball™ 3D (Sega)• BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE (Square-Enix, Inc.)• SAMURAI WARRIORS: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei)• Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft) • Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft) • Rayman 3D (Ubisoft) • Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)
As you can see, Ubisoft is once again a strong backer of Nintendo at launch. The strategy certainly paid off for the company during the early days of the Wii. While other company's scrambled to release games on the system following its surprise success, Ubisoft was preparing its second wave of games. We'll have to wait and see if the 3DS will capture mainstream attention in the same way or if possibility of glasses-free 3D is a persuasive selling point for consumers.

It's weird seeing a lot of third party games that have a lot of potential to be awesome games on a Nintendo portable system's launch.
ill wait until there are more first party games to get the 3DS i think...
Meh, for the 3DS only KH: 3D calls my atention, im gonna get the NGP, just feel bad for not trying this new KH
I was hoping that resident evil would have been released for launch, but they always hold back the really good stuff for summer/fall
Looks like the NGP has the 3DS beat in this department, too... Hmm.
Only two good games here
I would not buy any of those...
I don't mean to be a negative nancy, but these are not what I expected for the Nintendo launch. I expected at least Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3DS to be on here. I mean, Nintendo, your three launch games are going to be Pilot Wings Resort, Steel Diver, and Nintendogs + Cats?
Super Street Fighter IV is the only game I'm getting with it for sure. Steel Diver and PilotWings are massive maybes. If reviews are nothing less than stellar I will buy those two then.
I'm excited regardless. I hope BlazBlue Continuum Shift II comes out in April like it is in Japan because that is the only fighting game I truly need on the system. So awesome...
Dude, Rayman all the way.
No Resident Evil?
Aww, no Zelda :(
I was psyched for zelda to come out right away! Oh well i can wait... I hope
Nintendogs + Cats, Super Street Fighter 4 3D, Super Monkey Ball 3D, Samurai Warriors: Chronicles, Rayman 3D, Ridge Racer 3D, and Madden Football 3D are must own fo me. Though I'm very surprise to see that Dead or Alive isn't on the list.
was excited for pilotwings and steel diver until Gameinformer said they were slow/repetative respectively.
weak. None I care about, though I'm excited for the system and future games.
Uh, this is sixteen titles. Not eighteen.
It's not the most impressive launch line-up, but it's not terrible either. I will definatly get Super Monkey Ball.
Waiting for at least Zelda. The epic rehash of the launch titles = pre-order canceled.
"if the 3DS will capture mainstream attention..."
AS IF that's a concern haha I give it a month and everybody will either have it or be scrambling for it
