Nintendo Releases List Of 18 Launch 3DS Titles

The 3DS goes on sale March 27, but until now Nintendo's been mum about what games will be accompanying its North American launch. That changed this morning, with the reveal of the complete launch lineup. In addition to first-party games Pilotwings Resort, Steel Diver, and Nintendogs + Cats, shoppers will have 15 more third-party games to choose from.

Here's the complete 18-game lineup:

•    Pilotwings Resort (Nintendo)
•    Steel Diver (Nintendo)
•    Nintendogs + Cats (Nintendo)
•    Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition (Capcom)
•    The Sims 3 (EA)
•    Madden NFL Football (EA Sports)
•    Pro Evolution Soccer 2011 3D (Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc.)
•    LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars (LucasArts)
•    RIDGE RACER 3D (Namco Bandai)
•    Super Monkey Ball™ 3D (Sega)
•    BUST-A-MOVE UNIVERSE (Square-Enix, Inc.)
•    SAMURAI WARRIORS: Chronicles (Tecmo Koei)
•    Asphalt 3D (Ubisoft)
•    Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D (Ubisoft)
•    Rayman 3D (Ubisoft)
•    Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Shadow Wars (Ubisoft)

As you can see, Ubisoft is once again a strong backer of Nintendo at launch. The strategy certainly paid off for the company during the early days of the Wii. While other company's scrambled to release games on the system following its surprise success, Ubisoft was preparing its second wave of games. We'll have to wait and see if the 3DS will capture mainstream attention in the same way or if possibility of glasses-free 3D is a persuasive selling point for consumers.

  • Some of the games sound pretty decent

  • Where are all the games worth buying? Only one on this list remotely fun will be Rayman 3D. Where is my ocarina of time or star fox? -.-
  • Awesome, guess I'll play this when the system is a reasonable price. Im not going to spend about as much as a PS3 for a handheld that doesn't do much more than play games.
You get some netflx on there, skype, apps with the ability to hook into a cellular online network, maybe some other things and maybe it'd be worth it.
  • Pilotwings! I just might need to get one of these...

  • I got a super hadron for the 3DS, Cant wait \m/ (0.0) \m/

  • No Dead of Alive at launch? Thats odd.
  • That Rayman game reminds me, when are we getting that Rayman arcade game?

  • I only see one or two games I want (but still go without) and another one I might be interested.  Might get the system at launch still, but I don't see myself getting any titles.  Pilotwings looks great and I will always love SSF4, but I'm not moved.  I hope at E3 someone speaks on a FF Tactics game or a new Advance Wars, I don't mind all the remakes but I want to see some new titles.  Even if they are from old IPs.

  • What the heck no halo at launch?
  • That's gre..Wait no dynasty warriors?Rats!
  • Only game I would want to but is Super Street Fighter 4.

  • A Ridge Racer on launch day? Makes me feel like a kid again.

  • Not the best launch imo, but at least there seems to be something for everyone.

  • 1. The only one that snagged my attention is splinter cell. 2. Does anyone know when the bulletstorm review goes online?
  • What? Neither of the Resident Evil games are on here? When are they supposed to come out then?
  • Im pretty sure they will have this and some older games for download on the Nintendo store (or whatever its called) that you can play as well.

  • I'll be getting a 3DS and SSFIV3D on launch day but I think I will pass on the others. I will save my money for the better games that come out later like Ocarina, StarFox, RE: Mercenaries, and many others.

  • Seems i'll be getting a 3ds at launch, but without any games. :/
  • Hmmm Somehow paying 250 dollars to play a handful of C level releases just isn't as tempting as one would think.-____-
  • Have they announced how much the games will cost? I'm guessing $40 - $50.
