Don't say it... Don't bother. Its not a clone, its going to be far from it. We have all been talking to the creator. The game looks like it shall be epic.

I think gameloft would be more likely to copy minecraft. Anyway, I'd rather play regular minecraft by the looks of this.

Hmm, I love minecraft, but I think I prefer the low res graphics...In any case, I would probably still download this. I don't like the idea of a movable torch though; I think it sort of removes the scariness of exploring caves. I wonder what mojang will say about this though...

Yet... let it happen the other way around (let someone take an XBLA game and slap a new name on it and release it for free on the PC) and watch how quickly the tune would change though.

I think this will be a good alternative for people who can't buy Minecraft on a computer.

Lol, the dude is pissed as all hell about this, that's some serious rage going on. Sheesh, anybody with a lick of sense can tell this guy is taking serious inspiration from MineCraft the name, and layout look heck of a lot a like. Weather he is blatantly ripping of Minecraft remains to be seen. However, if the dude is writing a whole essay on how it's different from Minecraft it's Minecraft as someone on kotaku basically put.

This sucks. It's impossible to make a decent indie game without it getting cloned and reskinned by a big-box developer.

Part of me hates the creators of Fortresscraft for making such an obvious copy but the other part of me says "Wow, I finally get to play something that 'resembles' Minecraft."

I guess copycats were inevitable, but I still don't like it. Granted, it looks like a good game already, but that's because it's pretty much exactly the same as an existing good game.

If these guys make a lot of money off this...

I have a feeling you'll see plenty of bashing of this game by Minecraft fans. I am a Minecraft fan myself, but after the recent updates of the game, it's getting to the point where it won't run on my laptop. It's good to see I might have an alternative to paying for an upgraded computer by having this on 360. I hope it turns out well. Seeing as how many Minecraft players will treat anything remotely close to that game as blasphemy, I can only hope that the creators of FortressCraft know that they're going to be getting spammed in reviews and ratings for their game because of that. As always... gamers are so hardcore in their support of the games they enjoy that they just can't let anything that might be a "knock-off" be enjoyed by anyone else.

As long as it plays like Minecraft I am fine with it.

I remember hearing about a game where you actually get to play god and create a world. I think it was called Earth, or something like that. Its a indie game coming to consoles, I'm looking forward to that. I don't know about this one. will have to wait and see. So far my opinion about this game is probably the same as the rest of you guys lol.

I just have to ask. Is this rated one star because someone hated that a company copied Minecraft, or is it rated one star because Bryan did a bad job?

Honestly I think it's kinda neat that there's a 360 version coming. Although I would like to see the original Minecraft be able go to consoles. I guess we'll just wait to see what happens in the end.

I love Minecraft, but I don't know about this. It certainly looks similar[exactly the same], but it's hard to imagine a game coming out of nowhere and being even half as good. Considering this is an obvious rip-off, any creativity gameplay wise would surprise me.

This game could never have the same charm of minecraft. It just won't feel the same.

Also, what constitutes a lower rating on a news story? Do you rate it for how well the story is put together w/ information, etc., or is it rated by whether you like what it is talking about?

I'm shocked to see such a blatant rip off that isn't being made by Gameloft. But I'm sure the creator of this abomination will be contacted by them shortly.
