Toyota Giving Away Free Movie Rentals On PSN

by Jeff Cork on Feb 19, 2011 at 09:55 AM

Toyota is running a promotion on the PlayStation Network, where eagle-eyed viewers can score free movie rentals from the PlayStation Store. Before you claw your face off from all the excitement, take a deep breath and read on for the details.

For the next four weeks, you can get the free rental by either finding the Toyota Highlander ad tucked inside the store's video section or by visiting the featured collections area. From now until February 21, the free rental is The Da Vinci Code. February 22 brings Adam Sandler's comedy Big Daddy, followed up with Nic Cage's Ghost Rider the week of March 1. Finally, the whole thing wraps up the week of March 8 with Stranger than Fiction.

At the risk of sounding completely ungrateful, Toyota doesn't seem to be very good at giving away free things to gamers. Let's face it, the average Metacritic score for these movies is a 46.5. That's on a 100 point scale. Compared to that Yaris game that plopped onto Xbox Live a few years back, however, Ghost Rider is Schindler's List. But hey, free.

...

OK, now you can go back to clawing your face off.
