The Original Doom Running On A Calculator

Seems like Doom is on anything with a screen these days. As proof here’s a video of the game running on Texas Instrument’s TI-Nspire calculator!

A few tech savvy geeks at Omnimaga have figured out how to get id’s popular shooter to run on their graphing calculators. It’s better than what I had when I was in school. The only game I could play on my calculator was “I can write boobs upside-down.” At least that never got old.

The game is in Beta right now, but check out a demo of the game in action below.

  • writing dirty words on a calculator is a valuable skill.
  • typing out dirty words on a calculator...never gets old and doom on a calculator? who would have thought that was possible. Screw the iphone, i'm getting a calculator!
  • I've never been happier that I bought an nspire this past summer. Really works. :D

  • Best way to kill time in Math class.

  • For those of you who hate problems, here's your solution.
  • I was wondering when those jokes about games running on a TI-84 calculator would become true.
  • At least you had a calculator Ben...I couldn't even spell boobs upside down on the Abacus back in my school days. NVM, I don't expect most people on here to even know what an Abacus is...Google it.
  • haha interesting lol

  • Woah! I would totally buy a calculator just for that

  • This is even better than any 8008 calculator joke haha

Ben, why do you have to write it upside down? It's 80085. You're even weirder than I thought...
  • I played DOOM on a NES emulator on a friend's PSP once. Along with Home Improvement(I only played it because I heard you guys were going to do a Replay of it).
  • And yet, every year there's people saying "this game LITERALLY pushes the console to the limit of it's potential!"

  • Wish I still had this game

  • haha @ first post

  • I'd love to just whip this out in a Math class. LOL
  • FTW

  • I actually used to have Doom on my calculator when I was in high school.
