Telltale Games Working On The Walking Dead and Fables Games

by Ben Reeves on Feb 17, 2011 at 12:47 PM

Telltale Games is on a roll. First the company acquired the rights from Universal to develop Back to the Future and Jurassic Park titles, and now it sounds like the budding developer is working on games for hit comic book properties like Fables and The Walking Dead.

Telltale’s SVP of marketing, Steve Allison, recently told All Things Digital about these two upcoming projects, claiming that the company had big expectations for each game, and that "The Walking Dead could become a $20 million to 30 million franchise if all goes well."

After AMC’s The Walking Dead show debuted last year, it seems like Robert Kirkman’s property is bigger than ever, and anyone who’s read Vertigo’s Fables can tell you that the property is ripe with content for a game to explore. It sounds like these episodic titles will start to trickle out later this year via Telltale’s site and other downloads services like Steam.

Jeff Cork is currently attending a Telltale Event, and should have some official updates regarding this story very soon.
