The lights are on
Polish developer Techland's Dead Island has been on a three year hiatus, but thanks to an exclusive look from IGN, Dead Island comes back from the dead in a bloody, gory, unsettling, and overall impressive trailer.
The Call of Juarez developer's zombie-themed shooter was originally expected to drop on Xbox 360 and PC in 2008, and is now expecting a 2011 release on PlayStation 3, PC, and Xbox 360. Dead Island is a "first-person zombie-slasher/action-RPG" that takes place in a world overrun by the infected. The players are the last remaining against the bloodthirsty hordes of undead in a tropical paradise. According to IGN, there will be few firearms, and instead most combat will involve everyday items such as knives, machetes, bats, etc.
Deep Silver and Techland's Dead Island puts on quite a show in the latest trailer. Color us impressed. Here's hoping gameplay delivers.
[UPDATE] Deep Silver provided a new hi-res version of the trailer seen below.
oh man, i think the trailer alone has me sold. now i just need to figure out which system to get it for...
They did a nice job setting that up. It's intense and sad and it leaves me wondering who the player will be controlling.
The trailer is pretty cool and the piano music it's set to gives it an oddly calm feeling despite the violent and gruesome subject matter.
The anticipation grows!
wow is all I can say atm.... I cant wait to see what the gameplay looks like
Wow, that trailer is nuts!
This is one of the best trailers of all time, on par with the last couple of Halo ones. Definitely reminds me of the barn scene in 28 Weeks Later. Insanely vivid, can't wait for this game.
Watched the trailer on IGN. Pretty *** good, got me interested in the game at least.
I saw this on IGN earlier. I would like to see more of the game, but this trailer was just really depressing. It's 100X how sad Katey's story was in Dead Rising 2.
Also: I just think it's kind of cool how you guys use other people's trailers in your stories. Other websites would NEVER do that. It's one reason why I love Gameinformer! :)
Great trailer, probably one of the best I've seen.
Wow this looks really cool!!
wow. I've never heard of this until now, but am very interested. Very well done video. Actually like a movie instead of random gore.
