Review Roundup: MvC 3, Tactics Ogre, Dragon Quest VI

by Adam Biessener on Feb 15, 2011 at 06:35 AM

Who cares if it's February? There are games worth talking about anyway. Don't miss our final word on this week's hot titles, including two Game of the Month winners.

Tim Turi's love letter to Capcom's newest 2D fighter, Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds, is notable for being entirely free of slobbering over third-tier comic characters. He even kept his Mega Man obsession out of it through no-doubt superhuman effort.

Phil Kollar runs down why VI is a good vintage for long-running Japanese RPG series in his breakdown of the DS remake of old school adventure Dragon Quest VI: Realms of Revelation. The mid-'90s were a golden age for console RPGs, and this Super Famicom classic holds up on the DS.

Adam Biessener (hey, that's me!) dusted off the office PSP to take Square Enix's tactical RPG remake, Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, for a spin. If everything on the platform was half this good, it wouldn't have died a slow death over the last two years.

Quick, without peeking: Which ones got GOTM awards? They're all in the Battlefield 3 issue, so no fair if you already have your copy.
