The lights are on
In some bad news for gamers who loved the free-running of Mirror's Edge, Electronic Arts has apparently halted development of the sequel from Battlefield 3 developer DICE.
While Mirror's Edge 2 was never officially unveiled, EA CEO John Riccitiello has talked about the company's philosophy when it comes to the sequel. That talk may amount to nothing; according to a report press2play.tv (as translated by Eurogamer), "The project has been stopped - involved parties at DICE are working on something else now."We know that the "something else" is Battlefield 3, but it's still sad that work on Mirror's Edge 2 isn't moving forward. That's not to say that we'll never see a sequel, but EA's lack of enthusiasm surely isn't a good sign.

Loved the first one. Bad News :(
So many possibilities to be had in ME2. It's sad but the game hasn't been officially canceled, just put on hold. Hopefully they can make after BF3 releases.
Why does EA break our hearts on Valentine's Day?
Honestly, I've waited 6 years for BF3, and only 3 for Mirror's Edge 2. I think DICE should stick to what sells well, and innovate in that respect. I didn't really care for Mirror's Edge, tbh. I'm all for DICE focusing their manpower on BF3.
DICE may have halted progress on Mirrors Edge 2, but it also means they'll be more focused on BF3. In economics it's called a Production Possibilities Curve.
Losing an original type of game for more brown and grey is not a win in my book.
I understand that DICE wants to focus on BF3, I'm glad, I love the BF series. But Mirror's Edge was too promising of a franchise just to go one and done. I took pride in not shooting a single bullet throughout the whole story mode. And I remember the level "The Shard" was one of those moments in gaming that I'll never forget, great atmosphere in that level, the song was great as well. Anyways, MIrror's Edge deserves at least one sequel.
Oh, come on! They could multitask! Jeeze!
Not too surprised Mirror's Edge 2 would be put on hold for Battlefield 3. I expect once BF3 is out though, DICE will be back on completing Mirror's Edge 2. They are, however, going to have to make a huge leap that the first failed to achieve.
You either love or hate Mirrors Edge and in my case, I hated it. Not saying it doesn't deserve a sequel, it's just...Meh, oh well.
I think D.I.C.E is currently suffering from fail disorder.
That really sucks. I thought the first one was great. Something completely new and refreshing, with a unique art style.
It'll be a shame if a sequel isn't developed and the game mechanics introduced in the first aren't followed up on.
NO! This game needs a sequel and soon!
