No More Heroes Publisher Scraps RPG

by Matthew Kato on Feb 09, 2011 at 07:28 AM

Japanese publisher Marvelous Entertainment (which handled the Harvest Moon and No More Heroes series in Japan), has decided to cancel an unannounced RPG project.

The news comes after the company shelled out a reported $2.9 million on the development of the game, which it had hinted at last year would be for new hardware. Given Marvelous' history with Nintendo platforms, one could speculate this was for the Nintendo 3DS, but the company also had experience with Sony's hardware as well, so maybe it was an NGP thing.

This news is potentially even worse because the now-canceled project was going to be based on a new IP.
