Crazy New Call of Juarez Announced

by Matthew Kato on Feb 07, 2011 at 05:29 AM

Ubisoft has just announced the next installment in the Call of Juarez franchise, dubbed The Cartel. The game is being scheduled for release this summer.

Although the series is set in the Wild West. The Cartel is set in modern L.A.

Lest you think that the statement above is a typo, here's the official word from Ubisoft's press release: "Call of Juarez: The Cartel is set in present day and brings the best elements of the Wild West to a new and modern setting. As a first-person shooter with an immersive and mature story, players can expect to embark on a journey like no other – one that will take them from the heart of modern day Los Angeles, California to Juarez, Mexico."

We don't exactly know what developer Techland has in store, but it looks like it'll be interesting.

Did this series just jump the shark before our very eyes? Check out the box.
