Future New Vegas DLC Hitting 360, PS3, PC Simultaneously

Bethesda has done a great job in supporting its games after they've been released--if you're playing on the Xbox 360. While a multitude of post-release DLC has been available in the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3, PlayStation 3 users have had to wait months for the content to hit their system. PC support has been more solid, but playing those games on the Xbox 360 was the only way to ensure that you'd be able to access new content first. It looked as though that would be continuing through Fallout: New Vegas' lifespan, but that's changing after the release of the Dead Money add-on.

Dead Money is coming to the PS3 and PC on February 22, and additional DLC is scheduled to drop over the following months. Best of all, publisher Bethesda says that subsequent DLC will be released simultaneously across the three platforms.

Does this affect you? Did the staggered release dates push you toward the 360 versions? Sound off in the comment section.

  • After I got all the achievements for this game, I deleted all my save files to make room on my hard drive. All this DLC is making me regret it.
  • DLCs should be released on all consoles at the same time.

And Killzone 3 comes out on February 22, so I won't be getting Dead Money anytime soon, but I will get it eventually.
  • This is sweet. I have put over 40 hours into New Vegas and I'm not even close to completing the main quest line! I would just wish that they would stop taling my weapons away!! lol. :D
  • To me staggering release dates like that just makes me disrespect the developer/publisher. I have a pc,ps3, and 360 but I'm still going to buy the game on the system I like the best regardless of when the others get their DLC. I view the whole charade as nothing more than something to cause fanboy wars on something else. I pray Skyrim doesn't fall prey to this but I'll probably be disappointed. TL:DR version - Timed system DLC sucks. Skyrim shouldn't do it.
  • That's good because i plan to buy Vegas for PC in the near future

  • this is good news for me as i have the ps3 version. i've never understood why they held back dlc on ps3 when it's a multi platform game, i ended up never getting the fallout 3 dlc because of that.

  • That's fine with me. Eventually they all make their way over. I own all of my Bethesda games on PS3 due to better graphics IMO.
  • I love Xbox fanboys who say "We have pay a monthly fee so we should get it first." Its pretty said to think your paying money to delay the content on other consoles. It just doesnt make sense to me.
  • Yeah, I have New Vegas on PS3 so I'm glad to hear this.

  • That's awesome seeing as though I bought Fallout New Vegas for PS3 before I got an Xbox 360, and I was actually considering buying the 360 version just so I didn't have to wait for the DLCs.
  • Cool, now all consoles get to have the DLC for this awesome game!!!

  • That sucks I enjoyed getting my dlc before all those Sony supporters. lol
  • 360 has always been my preferred platform. Besthesda makes my favorite games. It's win-win. But I have to say, the fallout formula for DLC isn't very good, insofar as the game ENDS. I waited to beat the game until dead money came out, beat that in a weekend, and finished the game. And now I haven't played since. So the thought of future DLC isn't all that exciting. Surely it will have to be a continuation DLC such as Broken Steel was for PS3, otherwise I won't get it. If the next DLC to come out doesn't continue the game after the main quest, I'll wait until the DLC that does comes out. I'm not going to level another character just to play a few hour long DLC. While I do own a PS3 and PC... I just like my xbox more. I reserve PS3 for exclusives and BluRay. And my PC doesn't have the big-screen-loud-noises feel of my bijillion inch HD surround sound entertainment set up. Last note, hopefully any future DLC fixes the ridiculous, unforgivable bugs and glitches rampant throughout new vegas. Obsidian has developed a reputation of doing what other people have already done... just crappier. KOTOR 2 and Alpha Protocol we're attempts at capturing Biowares glory, and came across as exactly that. Sidenote: in KOTOR 2, if you're going to make a 2 hour long intro mission, make it not suck. New Vegas was just an attempt at doing what Bethesda had already done... on the same engine... with the same mechanics, gameplay, but plus about a 1000 problems. At least PC versions allow modding, which allow users to fix their mistakes for them.
  • It wouldn't have affected me either way, but I think this is the right thing to do. This is the way it should be. I can't see what they get from delaying?
  • Really I am getting tired of staggered releases and crap of this nature. Even tho I love bethesda this just makes me want to punch them in the face.

  • Feb 22? Ack sorry Bethesda, my February gaming fund is already reserved for Killzone 3.

  • I just hope the next DLC is better than Dead Money. I feel like the DLC for Fallout 3 was much better.

  • Well I was planning on getting Fallout New Vegas on the 360 because of the DLC even though I wanted it for PS3 so this is good news now I can get it on PS3 like I originally planned.

  • im excited to hear that there is more DLC!!!  Keep it coming

  • Man I can't wait for M$ to lose that *** exclusivity across all games, and No, exclusive deals don't affect my purchase choices at all. I still usually buy games for the PS3 before even considering the 360. But that's just personal preference.
