The lights are on
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West was Namco Bandai's attempt at a triple-A experience, but so far the game has yet to resonate with the game-buying public.
Eurogamer is reporting that according to the company's financial report, Enslaved sold only 460,000 copies worldwide across two platforms (Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3).
Despite this lackluster reception, MCV talked to Lee Kirton, Namco Bandai's UK marketing director who didn't dismiss a sequel outright. "I can't discuss where we are in terms of a sequel, but we're looking at reviews and feedback from the press and because of the gameplay and quality that Enslaved delivered, we see it as a great catalog title going forward."
Enslaved developer Ninja Theory (Heavenly Sword) is currently working on the new Devil May Cry for Capcom.

I had it pre-ordered but I read the review and decided to leave it as store credit. I heard it was good though. I really liked the demo. I feel bad for not picking it up now.
I loved it. Sleeper hit of the year.
this is one of the few games that compelled me to finish it and i'm glad it did.
between the production values, character relationship and development, and solid gameplay it was an entertaining title.
yes, it did do too much hand-holding even for me, but it still was enjoyable and encouraged exploration with its pickups and hiddens.
still planning on buying the dlc. i hope they do make a sequel but the numbers just aren't there.
Really bad news. This disencourage developers to make Triple-A things that are fairly different from he mainstream (people with guns shooting at everything, in first person if possible).
Expect to see more CoD's and Battlefield clones, changing the set to aliens or post-apocalyptic wastelands. This is the only thing that sells for certain and cursiously also grabs nice reviews from every site... at least western sites.
We'll be stuck with downloadable low-budget games if we want some different experience =/
This game was great. So underrated! A solid story, great graphics, and it was challenging. I say you should pick it up. Even new it's only $40 now. I am hoping to see a new Enslaved in the near future.
I don't have enslaved or heavenly sword both of which I hear are very well done and I have been planning to purchase. If they released the two in a dual game "budget" pack I think it would give the games some new life.
My friend played it and said it was decent. I'm not sure why it did so poorly.
Hated the character design. The lead character had stupid hair and a fat chin, and goggles? Sorta...why?
Anyway, the whole came seemed stinky, not quality, but I imagined everything smelled bad in this world.
What a shame! I love this game. I hope a sequel appears someday!
This was the most underrated game of 2010.
