Dungeon Siege III Has A Release Date

The month of May is traditionally a slow time of the year for sieging dungeons, but Square Enix is changing that with the release of Dungeon Siege III on May 31.

Developed by Obsidian Entertainment (the studio behind Fallout: New Vegas and Alpha Protocol), Dungeon Siege III is fantasy action/RPG that boasts co-op for up to four players. It's hitting Xbox 360, PS3, and PC, so plenty of gamers can enjoy the hacking, slashing, and loot-grabbing.

If the concept sounds intriguing, you should check out our full hands-on preview here.

  • I love me some hacking,slashing, and loot-grabbing.

  • looks nice, but most likely will wait to buy it

  • I have been waiting a very long time for a decent dungeon crawler on the current gen systems. I could not get enough of baldur's gate and champion's of norrath.

  • sweet looks awesome i cant wait love thoes kinds of games!!!......i just hope it dont suck XO

  • Cool, day after my birthday, still I'm definately going to wait until I hear how buggy it is or isn't.

  • Developed by Obsidian....umm NO!

  • Can't wait for the review!

  • I love hacking, slashing, and looting so I will definetely buy this. I love you RPG's.

  • "It's like a contemporary, right now big city, and we have Dolph Lundgren basically being a cop or like a fighting coordinator working as this, and one night he gets attacked by ninjas in his house and fell with the ninjas into a vortex back in time,"

"And then it turns out it's like 50 years after the first part - In the Name of the King - ended, and Ehb is destroyed and everybody is dead, Jason Statham and everybody who was in the first part got wiped out.

"They say [Lundgren] was basically sent into the future. He's the son of Jason Statham and he was sent into the future, brought up in an orphanage, because the parents felt that they would all die. So he is basically the last survivor of the kingdom of Ehb so he should bring the kingdom back in charge."

  • I have been eagerly awaiting this game for a while, and I plan to wait a little while to see the reviews. If it gets a good review and has all the hacking, slashing, and loot-grabbing action I'm waiting for, then this will be my first ever true RPG experience.

  • Meh. Delay it Square. I don't know if you've heard, but Obsidian is not the best as polishing their games. If Dungeon Siege will be content-complete by May, than they should be done squashing bugs for it by August methinks.

  • I didn't know it was developed by Obsidian. I'm having second thoughts now.

  • The preview looks intriguing. I think this will be a great game even though the second one and the movie were a little below par.

  • woot!  ps3 is on the list

  • Releasing it on my birthday. What a way to celebrate! :)

  • Loving it!

  • It's been some time since I've made time in my gaming schedule for a Dungeon Siege... although it's found a nice little empty-ish spot in the year to release. Will I be done with Duke, Brink, LA Noire AND Red Faction by then?

    Nope...

  • So just in time for people getting out of school and summer breaks everywhere. Let's see how bad Obsidian can screw this up.
