Dog Destroys Dead Space 2, EA Comes To The Rescue

A video game fan and blogger named Ashley had a problem. She was one of the world's biggest Dead Space fans, so of course she had been waiting for Visceral's Dead Space 2 for months. Thankfully, when she got it, she quickly found that the game was every bit as horrifying and gripping as she had hoped. So, what's the problem? Well, you see, during a session of playing Dead Space 2, her trusty canine companion (pictured above) knocked over her Xbox 360, ruining her Dead Space 2 disc in the process. She tried cleaning the disc, installing it -- nothing worked.

After tweeting about the incident, she received a message from EA asking for her address. A few days later, a package came in the mail. Included was a signed copy of Dead Space 2, and a hilarious hand-drawn cartoon of Isaac Clarke reprimanding her errant puppy. As you might expect, she was thrilled, and blogged about it here.

It's nice to see a game company come through for its fans like this. Good on you, EA.

Also, I just have to say - could ANYONE have predicted EA would be as much of a "good guy" as they are today 10 years ago? They used to be the Empire of the video game world.

  • Wow. What an amazing move on their part! I very much hope it was not a publicity stunt, because I think that's pretty boss. :)
  • Also... did EA do this for her? or the developer, Visceral?  There is a huge difference there.
