The lights are on
If you're on this site, you know what Grand Theft Auto is. While we're willing to bet you're familiar with GTA III and IV, there's a chance some of you out there aren't nearly as familiar with the original top-down games. It's true that the jump to 3D did wonders for Rockstar's series, but you'll find much of the same personality and humor in their less visually-impressive earlier installments.
Check out our look back at GTA 2 below.

Glad the video got fixed. Funny that you guys do GTA 2 since I just started the fourth last weekend. I don't know what to make of that Dracula game but it totally makes me want to take up reading the novel. Also, if you guys are looking for suggestions I would love to see you guys play Star Fox 64 or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist.
Watching this brings back fond memories of GTA, man those games are fun. The dracula game however, does not look so good. I'm definatly not voting for that one as I could not bare to watch even one segment of that super replay. Seriously they could probably comprise a full segment of just the loading time.
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!
Well that Dracula was clearly not a survivor horror game, it was an adventure game.
So Vampires still has my vote.
Do a super replay of the neverhood!
O have GTA2 for the PS1 it is fun but not as fun as GTA3 a course but it did the job for the time :)
And i agree with Thebigmun-chie you should do a Driver 1 replay
This was great. Countdown Vampires kicks the other one's *ss though. I'm right with you Dan - yawn-worthy game. I'm digging the vampire theme though :)
Love to see the replay. My avatar for another site is the medicar from GTA2. It would be the same for Joystiq but i could never get an avatar to register
Wow I remember playing this. Only thing I hated about the game was the top-down view. Made it hard...at least for me...to drive a car. Always left like I was going to drop Artillery on someone.
I loved this game! so freaking entertaining.
"Jesus my savior.....my favorite flavorrrr..." lmao
Great Replay, guys. That Dracula game looks like the biggest snorefest of the month. I'll stick to Countdown Vampires.
I remember playing this game. But I can't remember if it was the first or second that 30 seconds into the game you could wipe out a conga-line of hari-krishnas walking down the sidewalk to start out scoring huge points... and of course in some twisted way it was funny. Good times.
Wait a minute, Mist doesn't have a fart button? What a... mist opportunity.
wow. that dracula game looked horrible. i know my vote isnt going for that.
