Metroid's Samus Not Playable In DOA Dimensions

by Bryan Vore on Jan 24, 2011 at 12:55 PM

Even though Tecmo Koei recently released a trailer featuring Dead or Alive 3DS characters fighting in a stage from Metroid: Other M, the series' heroine will not appear as a playable character.

Once this trailer (see below) hit a few days ago, fans flew into a tizzy over the appearance of Samus in ball form at the end to drop a power bomb that fills the whole screen with light. Many thought this signaled that the interstellar bounty hunter would be bashing DOA characters in the face in the final game.

Not so, says Team Ninja's Yosuke Hayashi in an interview with Eurogamer. "This time she's not playable. But Samus Aran will be shown in the game," he says. "She comes to help the player. That's the collaboration shown there [in the trailer]. But how you can unlock Samus Aran? Please find out by yourself."
