The lights are on
Duke Nukem Forever has been in development for a little while. To give you a sense of just how much time has passed since it was first announced, Gran Turismo--a series known for its punctuality--saw releases 1-5 hit shelves in the intervening years. Skepticism turned to actual anticipation last September, when Gearbox unveiled Duke Nukem Forever in playable form at PAX. OK, so the game was really, really, real. A lingering question remained, however: When would we be able to finally take this thing home and play it?
As it turns out, we now know when that's happening.
"Somehow the guys at Game Informer magazine discovered Duke Nukem Forever's launch date before I did," joked Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software and executive producer of Duke Nukem Forever. "But I cannot imagine any better video game news source team than Game Informer to reveal the moment of truth for the most inconceivable, incorrigible and inspiring turn around story in the history of the video game industry – the coming of Duke Nukem Forever on May 3, 2011."
“The moment fans all over the world have been waiting for is almost here,” says Christoph Hartmann, president of 2K. “May 3, 2011 marks Duke’s return as he unleashes his brash and brutally honest wit on the world. His return is going to be epic and one that will make video gaming history!”
May 3 is the North American release date. May 6 is worldwide. Check it out below.

this looks terrible, it may play like a classic but theres reasons we have moved past them...plus the nudity seems a bit over done, probably an ao game
Wow I didn't realize how awful Doom 4 really was. I'm glad I have the option of ignoring this game, so that I can forever avoid whoever was doing that voiceover.
wow, the first person fist fighting looks pretty intense. this will either be the game we have all been waiting for, or a huge steaming pile of wasted years of anticipation. they better come through with tight gameplay to go along with the loose women that seem to be all over this trailer......
some of that driving scenery seemed very familiar -- Borderlands recycling? Ah, who cares. the game looks pretty over the top.
I love trailers that actually succeed in selling me a game. Well done Gearbox... well done.
This brought back some good memories. I wonder if the game will end up any good. After 12 F'n years... It should be.
never played the series...but this game looks really amazing!
Might pick this up!
IT'S ABOUT *** TIME!!!
*** EPIC!!!! MAY 3rd, IM ONIT! AT LAST!
I don't get it. This is the stupidest most ridiculous looking thing I have seen in some time. This is exactly what the industry doesn't need right now. A childish, vulgar, showcase for immaturity that enemies of the video game indusrty can use as ammo to take away the hobby we all love. A game where you can watch yourself take a piss...seriously? Is Gearbox employing 13 year olds these days? "Why do they always take the hot ones" wow thats some quality writing there.
Ahh man this is awesome I can't wait wait for May 3
Heres my 2 cents,
Its about Da*n time
Thia will be so worth the wait. All hail the king baby!
If this game doesnt make my head explode from too much awesomeness, I'll be totally disappointed. But I guess if my head explodes...Well that would be pretty cool I guess.
