The lights are on
In a sprawling role-playing epic like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, good audio can make or break the experience. An out-of-place musical theme, a poor voice actor in a key role, or a goofy sound effect can ruin the immersion, pulling players out of the excitement of the game. At the same time, strong audio work can help a game soar, deepening every level of involvement in the world of the game. We talked with Mark Lampert, audio director and sound designer at Bethesda Game Studios, and the chief architect of the aural experience players will encounter in Skyrim. He revealed details on all the sound elements players will encounter in the game, and had some fascinating examples of his work to share. Jump to any or all of the four videos that sound interesting. Video 1: Lampert discusses sound design and sound effects of Skyrim, and how he collects the elements of those sounds in the field. He then reveals the sound effects behind a new creature in Skyrim, and shows off a new spell and the awesome sounds that accompany its casting.
Video 3: Skyrim's sound designer explains the challenges of creating audio for the dragons of Skyrim, and discusses how he will create dragon shouts, one of the new gameplay mechanics of Skyrim.

Better and better and better and better and better and better and better..........
HA! Technoviking's picture!
First: I can't wait for this game. Second: That theme sounds incredible. Thirdly: I need a job like this.
In Oblivion I was a Imperial. But the Nords have the advantage in this game.
***, I'm gonna love this, and Max Von Sydow is only gonna make it better.
i wonder what the in-game music is gonna sound like. i know its gonna be epic though :)
I want that Morrowind quire in full! it sounds soooo EPIC! :D
i just did this and it sounds amazing...
on youtube search the skyrim vid then right when the choir starts chanting dovahkiin pause it and when lampert shuts off the main theme at the dovahkiin play the youtube video sound so good
ELDER SCROLLS FOREVER!WOOOOO
New SKYRIM screens! Fnially
I love it!
Again, there should be an explanation for Techno viking xD
I have a feeling it was just a small joke though.
Jeez, I get chills every time I listen to the music of this game. November cannot come soon enough!
Why not get Sean Connery to voice the dragons? I mean he did such a good job in DragonHeart, his performance changed the way I saw life. Why not have Dennis Quaid voice all of the player races! Wait, just make Dragon Heart the game, and by the way I am joking. That would be a terrible idea.
GIVE US A DEMO!!! PLEASE!!!
SKYRIM IS GOING TO BE EPIC BEYOND EPICNESS OF EPIC
I think the music is very fitting for Skyrim. It has a great viking sound and that's pretty good since we're talking about the land of the Nords, a.k.a. viking-like people. At first I wasn't sure how I would like it, since it's not music I normally like, but after hearing it I felt chills go down my spine. I really love it and I can't wait for November!
wow my favourite soundtrack was ME3 :S but i don't no know
The Elder Scrolls series easily has some of the best music and sound effects in any game. I can't remember ever playing and noticing the sound/music in a bad way. :D
bethseda you should be imprisoned for your cruel release date but i feel like it will be worth it if this game gets moved back you can expect the death toll to skyrocket >:)
Every single time I hear the climax to the theme song the hair on my neck stands on end. Amazing soundtrack! I'm also glad to see Max Von Sydow in this game. He adds a lot of depth and character to whatever he is doing (The Exorcist, Robin Hood, Ghostbusters 2, Minority Report, and even Conan the Barbarian. An exceptional voice actor!
