Ed Boon Tweets Potential DLC Characters For Mortal Kombat

Fighting fans are eagerly anticipating the new Mortal Kombat, and series co-creator Ed Boon is looking to please the MK faithful by returning to the series' 2D roots. On top of the familiar gameplay, the game's roster is decidedly nostalgic; every character revealed so far has been from the first three games. However, Ed Boon may be considering some post-MK3 characters if a couple of recent tweets are any indication.

The first reads "Seriously guys. Tell me your order of preference for a DLC character. Rain, Shinnok, Kenshi, Robo-smoke, or new character?". He followed that up with "Ooops...forgot one. Or Tanya." Rain was introduced in UMK3, Shinnok and Tanya in MK4, and Kenshi in Deadly Alliance. Out of all the potential names tweeted, Robo-Smoke was the only that fit into the first three games.

All I know is that if Robo-Smoke makes his return, he better be bringing his amazing fatality from Mortal Kombat 3 back with him:
