NASCAR 2011 Delayed

Activision and developer Eutechnyx are starting from the ground up with NASCAR The Game 2011, but the pair's first foray into the sport has been taken back to the garage.

Without citing any particular reason, the game's release date has been pushed back to March 29. It's not a big delay by any means, but it does mean that the title will miss the season-opening Daytona 500 and won't appear until just before the sixth race of the season – Martinsville on April 3. Hopefully by then Jimmie Johnson hasn't already won his sixth championship in a row and there's still a reason to be interested in the season.

Although it sucks that the game won't be available for the very beginning of the season, when EA had the exclusive license, its NASCAR titles never came out in February anyway.

  • this is really disappointing news this game looks great and will hopefully fix all of EA's mess ups, i was really looking forward to this game and then daytona is 5 days away from the release... but i guess not

  • anyone interested in a 360 leauge for this game message me

  • You mean I'll have to wait longer to make left turns, I mean driving around in a circle is one of my favorite things to do. I am so disappointed in this news, man! Stopping and getting gas and tires while sitting in a car, hearing the people scream and cheer is totally awesome. It's one of the best sports out there... driving in circles really, really fast.
  • Awww man, now I'll have to wait even longer to drive straight and turn it to the left sometimes. This is ***' gay and it's pissin' me off! I'll have to do a bunch of dip until then...
  • I hope they use that time to not only fix any bugs that the game may have, but also to add some more features.  Your preview made the game sound pretty bare.  Either way I'm looking forward to it.

  • THEY'RE TAKING A LEFT TURN! LOOK THEY'RE TAKING ANOTHER LEFT TURN! WHAT THE *** IS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT?!? That is what I expect from this game.
  • AAAAAWWWW NAAAAAWWWW!!!

  • Mod

Sucks but at least it's not too long of a delay.

  • GTFO trolls. some people are actually interested in the sport. nascar is an endurance sport. it's not like driving around in your prius. how bout you try hold an average speed of 200mph while concerning yourself about your tire wear, fuel, downforce, drafting, team mates, rivals, and the 42 other cars going 200mph 3inches away from you. all you people saying "all they do is turn left" obviously are ignorant of all the complexities of whats going on when you drive a car 200mph. not to mention all the things that happen off the track.
  • there's no denying that it takes a considerable amount of strength and mental skills in Nascar, but for the people that loves this sport, please, PLEASE admit to yourself it's as boring as golf or baseball..the only time where it's fun to watch is when there are crashes..people that attend these races are usually downing beers and drunk..just like baseball..if alcohol wasn't serve at baseball games, there would be a lot less attendees..and btw, this game would only be fun if you actually have the playseat and the gt5 pro wheel, it's pointless if you play this game with a dualshock
  • I'll stick to Gran Turismo.

  • No doubt this game will be bought buy at least one redneck, but for me? I think I like my GT5 a little better than yet another title I have to buy from Bobby Kotick.

  • Sucks to hear, but I'd much rather the game come out a little later than planned and be done well than to come out riddled with bugs that may (or may not) be fixed in later patches.

  • Cartman: "NASCAR is only for poor and stupid people, I don’t have what it takes!"

  • OH NO! Now I won't be able to continuously turn left on a track for 4 hours! Whatever shall I do?

  • Surprised to see a yearly release from EA get pushed back...can you imagine the outrage if a title like Madden or NCAA got pushed back? Though that would probably do them some good...

  • Well, better late and polished then on time and buggy, that's what my grandpa always said. So, yeah, people can wait, it'll (hopefully) be worth it.

  • I'm so looking forward to this game =] I am happy they're taking there time.
