BioWare Reveals New Weapons And A Mysterious Shop For Dragon Age II

by Phil Kollar on Jan 12, 2011 at 07:30 AM

With Dragon Age II's March 8 release date approaching, BioWare is continuing to provide new and tantalizing details about the various wonders you'll be able to encounter in the game. Today's reveal? Two new pre-order bonus items and a strange shop known as the Black Emporium.

BioWare says that the weapon and shield pictured above will be made available to anyone who preorders Dragon Age II from participating retailers. The blade is known as the Fadeshear, and in addition to doing bonus damage against demons and undead, it will actually continuing becoming more powerful as you level up. The shield is called the Lion of Orlais, and it will increase your health while also providing a bonus to XP gain.

Even if you don't preorder, you should be able to access the Black Emporium, a shop full of magical oddities hidden beneath Kirkwall. Among the things you'll be able to buy at Kirkwall, BioWare mentions an artifact that will allow you to change your looks – in case you do like I did in Dragon Age: Origins and create an incredibly ugly lead character – and a whistle that summons a pet mabari war hound.

Who's planning to slash their way through Dragon Age II using this nice-looking preorder weaponry?
