Activision Drops 2010 Music Game Prices

by Phil Kollar on Jan 10, 2011 at 10:10 AM

Activision has announced price drops for both of their fall 2010 music game releases, DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. Cue more chatter about how the music game genre is dying.

GamrFeed reports that standalone copies of DJ Hero 2 and Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock have dropped in price $10 to $49.99. Bundles are receiving an even bigger cut of $20 -- a DJ Hero 2 turntable bundles is now a shockingly reasonable $59.99, while a Warriors of Rock guitar bundle runs $79.99, and a full band bundle is $159.99.

Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock was released in September, while DJ Hero 2 came out in October, so some are pointing to these relatively early price cuts as a further sign of the music genre struggling. Whatever the reason for the savings, it's a good time to check out those games if you were waiting. Warriors of Rock is pretty good and DJ Hero 2 is excellent.
