Kinect To Be Integrated Into Windows

by Adam Biessener on Jan 07, 2011 at 12:01 PM

Microsoft's Steve Ballmer told the BBC that Kinect will be officially supported on Windows PCs at some point in the future, though he declined to speculate on any further PC-specific plans for the device.

We've already seen a number of hacks for everything from 3D teleconferencing to controlling World of Warcraft with arm gestures. While there has been no confirmation of Microsoft's ultimate intentions, the company could do fantastic things with Kinect in future iterations of Windows. Ballmer would only say that Microsoft "will support that in a formal way in the right time."

What would you use a Kinect for on PC? And don't say what I know you want to say. Keep it clean, you.
