R.U.S.E. Played With Kinect In Demo Video

And the Kinect hacks keep coming. A new video has surfaced online, showing an enterprising PC user playing Ubisoft's RTS R.U.S.E. solely with gesture controls. As you can see in the video below, he moves troops and issues commands using sweeping hand gestures and simulated multitouch motions.

It's definitely an impressive use of the tech, though it's important to remember that the game was designed with Microsoft's Surface table in mind, and these kinds of gestures were essentially built into the game. It does demonstrate that this kind of interface is viable for the genre, however. Whether most people would want to hold their arms in the air like this for any length of time remains to be seen.
