Miyamoto Says The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is Over Half Finished

The game is making its way towards the development finish line according to Shigeru Miyamoto, which makes us hopeful that the game will have no problem reaching its 2011 release date.

In a wide-ranging interview with Pocket-lint, Miyamoto says the game is packed with content. "What we are focused on is creating gameplay mechancis so the gameplay experience feels very dense. In fact, the overall experience is going to feel more dense. We hope that people will want to go back and replay the game once they finish it."

Awesome, awesome news.

That's good to hear, but aren't they going for an early 2011 release? Granted, "Early 2011 release" could mean anywhere from January to June, and "Over half finished" could mean anything. Still, I wouldn't be surprised if this one doesn't come out until around May or so. I think I can wait though. A good game is worth waiting for.

Introducing Wii's last trick up its sleeve. I love the Zelda franchise, I own almost every game. From the first gameboy installment: Link's Awakening, to wind waker, Zelda and Zelda II. I even own the CD-i versions. As Long as Zelda keeps going in a straight direction, I will forever be loyal. Looking forward to Skyward Sword.

It is surprising that Zelda is only half finished. When they debuted at E3 I thought it would be pretty close to being finished otherwise developers (especially Nintendo) don't show live demos. But it will be nice to buy a third game for my Wii. (Mario Kart and the other Zelda)
