Guitarists & Gamers Alike Shred With The Upcoming Squier Strat Rock Band 3 Controller

The realistic instrument controller for Rock Band 3 doesn't come out until March, but guitarist magazine Premier Guitar already has its hands on the controller (cast as the iconic Squire Stratocaster) and has run it through its paces with users of different skill sets and backgrounds.

Premier Guitar's online review of the peripheral is split among different kinds of users: The experienced guitarist, the guitar teacher, a gamer who is also learning how to play the guitar, and the pure gamer. Naturally, each brings their own perspective to the table when talking about the controller. While non-gaming guitarists might find the construction of the guitar and its functionality (no bending, vibrato, or tapping) not great, the group that perhaps drew the most benefit from the instrument where those gamers who were simultaneously learning guitar. The mag notes that the peripheral could be a good learning tool and starting point in a day and age where aspiring guitarists possibly need any extra motivation they can find.
