Playlogic Back In Business

by Meagan Marie on Dec 21, 2010 at 03:37 AM

After a year rife with financial hardships which eventually lead to a bankruptcy filing overseas, Playlogic has announced that it is back in business.

A press release out of Amsterdam this morning outlined Playlogic’s new plan. “After a long process led by the curators of CMS Derks Star Busmann, Marc van Zanten and Marlous de Groot, an agreement was reached on a restart of Playlogic’s activities,” reads the release. “The relaunch is realized by the newly formed company Playlogic Entertainment N.V.”

It is also noted that the U.S. company Playlogic Entertainment Incorporated is not involved in the relaunch. Playlogic Entertaimnet NV’s new prime directive will be to focus on digital publishing for Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony worldwide. It is also exploring the mobile gaming and gambling markets, and made a point to mention that a potential acquisition along this vein is in the final negotiation stages.

The company hopes to re-employ some of the former staff starting on the first of January. No upcoming projects have been announced, but Playlogic says that news in this regard is just over the horizon.

Prior to the bankruptcy, Playlogic was known for titles such as Fairytale Fights, Obscure: The Aftermath, Infernal, Age of Pirates, Sudoku Ball Detective, Worldshift, and Ancient Wars: Sparta.
