Fan Creates Super Smash Bros. With Game Boy Graphics

Super Smash Land is a fan "de-make" of sorts of the ever popular Super Smash Bros. Check out the trailer below or download the game demo on your PC.

Dan Fornace, designer and programmer of Super Smash Land, says the project has been in development since September. The game will feature Mario, Kirby, Link, Pikachu, and two secret characters when it officially launches. The team will also offer the chiptune soundtrack free, according to sound designer Brendan Becker. For details on how the game was made, check out the team's interview with Piki Geek.

Wow. I loved all the SS games so far. This is pretty cool. Kinda half waiting for some jerk from corporate to smash creativity down with a lawsuit hammer, though.

silly nintendo still cant realize how possible, incredible, and high selling a portable smash bros would be. i get that they dont want to make a cheap knock off, but with the 3ds, itd be the complete opposite.

I remember back in 2002, when I had a GBA but not yet a GCN I wanted some of the Gamecube games in portable format. Nowadays the DS and Wii share a lot of titles, which is nice; I don't feel like I'm missing out by not having both.

The above vid is completely freakin' awesome btw, wish I had that back in the day. And with linked battles.

Sadly, Nintendo has not made a Super Smash Bros. on a handheld. Let's hope the 3DS changes that.
