Kinect Hack Is One Step Closer To The Holodeck

It’s been little over a month since Microsoft’s Kinect came out, but we’ve seen enough technology hacks to last a lifetime. Still, as long as the these hacks are cool, we say keep them coming. The latest hack allows for a new kind of 3D video conferencing, which is quite a bit cooler than it sounds.

This hack was headed by Oliver Kreylos of the University of California Davis, who used two Kinect units and a Wii remote to create 3D video conferencing with head tracking. Check out the video for more.
