Excited about the new Elder Scrolls teaser? You can learn more about Skyrim sooner than you think.

This weekend Bethesda revealed The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to the world during the Spike TV VGAs. A press release this morning confirms what we already knew – gamers can get an in-depth look at the highly anticipated sequel to Oblivion in Game Informer's February issue. We began planning ahead for this story months ago, and we've been dying to share the exciting news. Now that we've seen the game up close and personal at Bethesda Game Studios, we're even more stoked to share what we've learned.

Check back here on January 6th to see the cover reveal, which is the beginning of an entire month of coverage devoted to Bethesda's latest potential masterpiece.

OH MAN! ARGH! I am never going to make it another 11 months waiting for this game. The Elder Scrolls made me a hardcore gamer, the atmosphere the fiction the overwhelming details, it's just the greatest game series ever. Hopefully the GI cover issue can give me the patience to carry on for awhile. Well that and playing the hell out of Oblivion for the next year!

Yay. I'm a big fan of Elder Scrolls and also a big Norse Mythology Nerd. And since the Nords of Skyrim are what happens when Norse and Hindu mythology have a baby, I'm happy.

Quick Question: I noticed that you had released a quick summery of the elder scrolls in your latest issue (213). Normally this didn't strike me as odd except that you had already done a series recap not to long ago (The exact issue is long lost propping some piece of furniture). Was it coincidental or are all members of the staff in the know?

Any dunderhead knew that Bethesda was working on some sort of continuation of the Elder Scrolls. I'm excited that it's coming sooner than I thought, however.
