The 2010 Spike VGAs are shaping up to be an impressive night of debuts and reveals, making news that Neil Patrick Harris will be hosting the event icing on the cake. Other slated celebrity appearances include Danny Devito, Kaitlin Olson, Rob McElhenney, Tony Hawk, Chris Hemsworth, and Dane Cook.

Harris isn’t unfamiliar with the world of gaming, having lent his voice to characters in Matt Hazard, Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions, and Saints Row 2.

How many of you plan on catching the VGAs this Saturday?

Why must Tony Hawk always be included.

He's very awkward on stage, and isn't relevant to gaming much anymore, unless he's there to announce he will be working with EA on Skate 4.

The rest is awesome though, I'm sure the VGAs will be really embarrassing like they always are, but as least NPH is making them embarrassing!

I love video games so much that I even watch the VGAs. They've improved over time... slightly. And hey, if you're going to pick a random celebrity who has just about nothing to do with video games to host, it might as well be someone as awesome as NPH.

NPH hosting is cool but they need more gaming celebrities rather than just brining in random hollywood guests. Get people like Cliff Blezinski, Gabe Newell, Tim Schafer, and perhaps Penny Arcade guys up on stage.
