Kaos Studios Showcases Homefront Multiplayer in Dev Diary

Kaos Studios is no stranger to creating successful multiplayer experiences. Back when the team was known as Trauma Studios, they crafted the legendary Desert Combat mod for Battlefield 1942 and later teamed up with DICE to work on Battlefield 2. For its latest shooter, Homefront, the studio is concocting an ambitious combat cocktail by blending Battlefield's signature vehicular warfare, Counter-Strike's in-game economy, and Frontline's armed drone weaponry.

In the second Homefront developer diary, Kaos explains how it plans to incorporate all of these disparate elements into a new Rush style mode called Ground Control. You can check it out below.

  • This game looks so cool. I like the fact that the story line is looking a little bit better than in other FPS of this style...
  • Loved the Battlefield burn. I still can't fly those stupid helicopters...Truth is I stopped trying after a few immediate suicide and team kills.
  • I cant see to find myself interested in this game no matter how hard i try :l.Am i crazy or something?
  • This game looks good but nothing differnt.. But I love these clips of when a developer eyes are so bright like they have done somthing new just to get sqaushed by COD, and Halo still... But good luck THQ you will need it....
  • I'm excited for this game. I can't wait to buy this game. I like the looks of this game. Game.

  • Something new other than Call of duty. Sign me up. :D

  • The story for this sounds an awful lot like the Freedom Fighters, where Russians take over NYC and the protagonist, uh doesn't want that :P Anyway, not saying that means something one way about Homefront's quality, but the whole "it's unique" angle is lost on me.
  • Keeping a close eye on this one. There is potential here but lets hope it does not end up like Fuel of War.
  • i can't wait for this. yeah, it's not real innovative, but i loved freedom fighters and have been anxious to see a return to that formula. granted there's no squad control i'm aware of, but the premise is compelling even if not entirely original, and the multiplayer looks solid and fun. sign me up, kaos! (nevermind that i enjoyed frontlines.)

  • Everyone brace yourself for a Call of Duty and Halo fan boy attack! The worst kind!
  • Points spent on rewards on the fly eh? No buy zone restrictions? I don't know about this... I smell a novelty game :(

    Think BALANCE please Kaos.

Still LOOKS really cool, I like the visuals I've seen so far a lot.

  • You call 32 players large scale? Weak, come back when there is at least 64
  • Looks like a pure copy of battlefield. Until it switched to first person, then it looked like a COD expansion. It could be good or bad i guess.

  • I remember seeing this at E3 on tv, and it looked pretty good.

  • if homefront plays as good as the videos look then i think its gonna be one of the best out there...actually can't wait for it to come out.

  • I'm waiting for MAG type scale with that kind of presentation. Now that would be large scale fps.

Though, this game still looks pretty good, but somehow I get the feeling that it wont have the player base to support it...kind of like MAG I'm sad to say.

  • Interesting; I'll be on the look out for this game, but I think Crysis 2 still has the edge over this game.
  • this is very interesting hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • This looks really good. I can't wait to see how the multiplayer turns out. So far it seems like a more arcade style Battlefield which on the drawing board sounds awesome. From what I have seen in the videos was pretty cool. I just hope that it turns out as good as these people say its going to be. Good luck Kaos Studios!
  • why does everybody think Halo and CoD fanboys are going to attack this game? I love both franchises but I'm still dead set on getting Homefront
