UPDATE: New Zombie Game Believed To Be Resident Evil: Raccoon City
UPDATE: Website GamerZines believes it has uncovered evidence that links the image above to Capcom's Resident Evil series, and possibly Slant Six Games' rumored multiplayer-focused title, Resident Evil: Raccoon City. Check out their article for all of the details. The data they have is convincing, to say the least.
ORIGINAL STORY: Spike's site just posted a trailer for the upcoming VGAs, and it looks as though they're being sneaky, too. In addition to calling out the nominees and saying why you should bother watching the thing, there are a few flashes of...something between clips.
We froze the action down and grabbed the image above for you. All right. It appears to be some kind of new zombie game. A few folks are taking that "1 of 3" in the corner to be a reference to Left4Dead3. And what is that text in the upper left corner? What do you think?
In addition, a QR code appeared in the trailer just before the image. It leads to http://mm.mtv.com/avTWzR. It's another Spike site, with the words "LOOK CLOSER" and "MURDER" on a black background. I dinked around with it for a while in Photoshop and couldn't find anything else in the background.
