Level-5 Soccer RPG Coming Stateside?
To western audiences, Level-5 is mainly known for its Professor Layton series. That may change, however, as the Japanese developer prepares to bring one of its popular franchises to a new audience.
Siliconera is reporting that the publisher Bergsala will be bringing one of Level-5's more eccentric series to European audiences. The game is entitled Inazuma Eleven, a Nintendo DS RPG that tells the story of a middle school goalkeeper named Endou Mamoru. There are currently six titles in the series. Europe will reportedly be getting the original title first.
Whether or not this means the U.S. will also be getting a port remains to be seen (especially considering America's less than enthusiastic interest in soccer), but it would fall in line with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata's declaration that the company will be bringing more Japanese games to western audiences.
