Microsoft Reveals Xbox 360 Black Friday Deals

With the biggest shopping day of the year approaching this week, gamers are on the lookout for awesome deals. Lucky for you, Microsoft is happy to help. They've announced a whole bunch of great price reductions this week for both retail and downloadable offerings.

From Friday, November 26 until Monday, November 29, you'll be able to pick up Fable III and Halo: Reach from participating retailers for a mere $39.99 -- sizable savings for two triple-A first-party titles that were only recently released.

In addition to the physical sales, Microsoft will be offering some digital deals from Tuesday, November 23 until next Monday. Xbox Originals Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and Halo: Combat Evolved will run a mere 400 Microsoft points ($5). You'll also be able to pick up Xbox Live Arcade titles Trials HD, Monkey Island: Special Edition, Madden NFL Arcade, and Portal: Still Alive for 400 points. Best of all, Twisted Pixel's excellent hardcore platformer 'Splosion Man will be available for a shockingly low 160 Microsoft points ($2).

Microsoft will also be offering deals on some Zune movies, including Clash of the Titans, Sex and the City 2, and Cats and Dogs 2 for 720 points ($9) and 300 for 380 points ($4.75).

The only downside to the announcement? The movie and digital download game deals will be cycled throughout the week in various daily deals. You'll need to check in each day to see what's available. Microsoft promises some extra special offerings on Black Friday itself, so definitely take a moment out of your post-Thanksgiving day of rest to log onto Xbox Live and see what's happening.

  • Awesome! Definitely picking up 'Splosion Man and Trials!

  • Well, I already have Halo: Reach, but I've been wanting to get Fable 3 for a bit now. Hmmm....
  • Halo 1 is mine!

  • Halo Combat Evolved for 400 MS Points??? Screw the Fable 3 DLC! Im getting that!

  • Holy crap, 'Splosion man for 2 bucks? Uh, yes please.

  • holy sweet deals! I'm there

  • those digital movie "deals" don't seem very cheap. I'll stick to Netflix. Splosion Man and Trials seem cool. I was just waiting for them to go on sale. Being patient finally pays off.
  • 'Splosion Man seems like a good deal, already have Halo Reach.

  • I LOL'd at their selection of Zune movies. Clash of the Titans, Sex and the City 2, and Cats & Dogs 2 all sucked major ass. The only good one in that list was 300.

The games look like sweet deals. I might actually get 'Splosion Man just because it's such a great deal for only 2 bucks.

  • I was gonna hold off on buying Fable 3, not any more! Also definitely gonna get trials!

  • Looks like I'm getting 'Splosion Man. Although I have Reach and Fable III already, I'm not disappointed at all. My deal for buying Fable III was that I got $20 off my next video game on Amazon, which I used for pre-ordering Dragon Age 2 for $40, so it's like I got this deal anyway.

  • Yeah, good old Microsoft.
  • im gettin San Andreas for sure!

  • While I do want Fable 3, I'm still gonna wait till it's under 30.

  • is game stop one of the participating stores GI staff?

  • Nice! i'm going to definitely try and pick up Splosion Man, that always looked pretty sweet.

  • $40 for Reach? Right on!

  • I will buy splosion man for only 2 bucks.

  • I might pick up `Splosion Man. I already have Reach though, and I just picked up Fable 2... Nothing else interest me to much. They need to put Assassin`s Creed Brotherhood on sale (although, they won`t).

  • Can't decide if I want to buy Fable. I definitely will pick up San Andreas for 5 bucks though.
