The lights are on
This has to hurt. As a hardware manufacturer, it's never good to hear a developer criticizing your system. However, it's a little bit worse when said developer has made some of the best games in the system's history, all of which were based on your first-party franchises. That's just what's happened to Sony and the PSP, which is looking more and more like a system on death's door given all the rumors of a PSP2 circulating. In an interview with Edge magazine, Ready at Dawn (the studio behind God of War: Ghosts of Sparta, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and Daxter for PSP) founder Ru Weerasuriya said that the handheld system was "doomed from the beginning."He goes on, "There are some things which aren't conductive to calling it a true portable gaming platform and calling it a connective platform, although it has wi-fi."However, Weerasuriya does mitigate these remarks by saying "it's a good platform and you can make some amazing things on it" and holds out hope that Sony will learn from its mistakes in creating the PSP2.

I love my PSP..maybe it doesn't have the exclusives DS has but it's still a heck of a gaming system. I use it anytime I have a little downtime, or on vacation, etc....I hate to see it getting bashed like this, but everyone is titled to their own opinion.
i really don't think the psp is worth anything now. ds was never a huge rival in terms of hardcore games, but it still sells like crazy. i'm just looking forward to the psp2 and 3ds. i'll probably get both cause 3ds had 360 graphics with 3d effect but psp 2 has ps3 graphics with dual analogue sticks. i don't enjoy playing cod games on my ds cause the touch screen is just too hard to control X(
I loved my PSP, only problem was that not many games were actually released on it.
To me it seemed like Sony totally forgot about the PSP for a while.
And the PSP is going to be an even bigger fail, no UMDs?
Come on Sony!!
The PSP Go didn't sell because it's lack of UMD port what makes them think that the PSP2 will be better?
We want UMDs again!
I'm really surprised not more people are mentioning PSP's failure as a lack of dual analog sticks. Anyone who tried the first PSP GTA will know that better movement/camera control was a huge issue.
The dual sticks were essential to the integration of the GTA3 world, and a lot of great games were built off similar engines of the GTA type. Every open-world and FPS would be incredibly difficult on the PSP, which were PS2's bread and butter.
I love my psp but I really do think it was never used to it's max potential. I think sony will be able to correct their mistakes with the ngp. From what I've read I, personally, think it will be better than the 3ds. Although I am really excited to see how the rumored wii2 will do.
I loved my PSP. I wish they were built a little studier than they are, and the technology in them is pretty old by today's standard's, but it has been a fun system to play on. Let's hope Sony has learned some humility and what they did wrong with the PSP.
Well i'ts always the catalyst that fascinates the other ptoduct and through PSP they got the VISTA! To me i'ts like the PSP evolved.
Ouch... I loved the PSP! I bought my first one way back when it came out! And then I learned I could play my PSX games on it? Man, the PSP is STILL a staple of my entertainment- at home or on the go. I'm excited to see what Vita has to offer, but very thankful the PSP has served me as well as it has.
Eat it, Game Boy! =)
i have a psp and i think that this has better games than the ds. it has daxter, god of war ghost of sparta, valkyria chronicles 2, metal gear solid peace walker and many other great titles. this is the best HANDHELD ever made and i mean that.
HE SOOOO WROOONNNGGGGGGGGGGG
why is psp so bad to have
its games are definately better than nintendo's seeing now how they're epically failing right now. but it is dying. the 3000 and everything below it at least. the PSVita seems to be very promising though. Although it completely flopped in japan
