Portal 2 Charmingly Delayed

Valve's supremely anticipated followup to Portal is no longer going to release in February, but at least the company accompanies that disappointing news with some self-deprecating humor.

In a press release entitled "VALVE ANNOUNCES SHORTEST DELAY IN VALVE HISTORY," the developer announced that Portal 2 will now release on April 18, 2011. Valve noted that the original game missed its ship date as well.

"This two month slip not only marks the shortest delay in Valve's proud tradition of delays, it represents the approaching convergence of Valve Time and Real Time," reads Valve's statement. "Though this convergence spells doom for humanity, it will not affect the new Portal 2 release date."
