Award Winning Composer Returns For Dead Space 2

by Ben Reeves on Nov 17, 2010 at 08:15 AM

Did the orchestral score in the first Dead Space have you tossing and turning in your sleep? If so, prepare to have a few more restless nights when Dead Space 2 releases. Jason Graves, composer for the first Dead Space, is bringing his haunting symphonic talents back for the sequel.

“The score really runs the gamut as you play through the game,” says Graves in an EA press release. “There are much bigger and scarier pieces along with quieter, more personal moments to counterbalance them. I wrote for string quartet to portray Isaac's vulnerable side. It's quite the emotional arc, but of course still done in a very Dead Space way."

The first Dead Space won BAFTA awards for Original Score and Best Use of Audio, so we’re excited to hear whatever haunting choral compositions Graves cooked up for Dead Space 2.
