Persona 2: Innocent Sin Is Getting Enhanced

by Joe Juba on Nov 15, 2010 at 06:40 AM

Atlus is ensuring that the PSP port of this entry in the Persona series is more than a simple port. With tweaks to the combat, interactions, and visuals, the re-release Innocent Sin is looking good for Persona fans.

If you think you've played Innocent Sin before, you're probably wrong. When it released on the original PlayStation, Persona 2 was actually two separate games. One was Eternal Punishment, which eventually was localized for North America. Innocent Sin, however, never made it stateside. That hasn't officially changed for the moment (the PSP port hasn't been announced for U.S. release), but given the success of previous Persona games on PSP, the odds of it coming over are good.

So, what kinds of changes can you expect in this new-and-improved version of Innocent Sin? The art has been updated to feel more in line with later games in the series, and improvements to combat (like improved demon negotiation) make battles smoother. You'll also be able to change the difficulty mid-game, instead of being stuck with the choice you make at the beginning.

Of course, getting excited before an official U.S. release is announced would be premature, but it's probably safe to start getting hopeful.
