PS3 Gets Exclusive NHL App
If you're one of those die-hard NHL fans or are stuck out of the market of your favorite team and subscribe to the NHL's GameCenter package, a new PS3-exclusive application adds some cool functionality and classic NHL games to your docket.
The NHL GameCenter application is free to PlayStation Plus members and $9.99 for everyone else. It's best used in conjunction with an existing NHL GameCenter subscription (which lets you watch pretty much any game going on around the league excerpt for those in your home market) because it lets you watch your GameCenter games on your PS3 and adds functionality such as being able to bring up a timeline bar which lets you select and re-watch significant moments in the game. The app (w/ a GameCenter subscription) also lets you watch games from last season as well as classic NHL matchups from as far back as the 1960s.
If you aren't a subscriber to NHL GameCenter (which runs $169 for the season), you can still use the application, but then it will only give you player stats, team schedules, game highlights, and other minor functions.
