The lights are on
A few days ago we told you that Activision was preparing to throw a big bash in honor of the launch of Black Ops and that the party would include a performance by Metallica. Want to know who else showed up? Check out the pictures and see for yourself.
You can view pictures of some of the attending celebrities in the gallery below, which includes shots of Metallica performing -- not to mention looking remarkably similar to the exaggerated avatars of Guitar Hero. Also pictured: That dorky guy from Scrubs, a Twilight fan who forgot to button her shirt, some guy whose shirt and tie combination look like an optical illusion, and a woman who loves the number 18
In all seriousness, the event also raised one million dollars for The Call of Duty Endowment, which provides training and job placement for veterans, and Activision pledged to find an additional 1,000 jobs for veterans. Considering how much money Activision has made from its line of military shooters, it's good to see the company giving something back to real soldiers.
