The lights are on
Gran Turismo 5 missed its November release date, but the game's release appears to be ever so close. According to GT 5's Kazunori Yamauchi, the game has gone gold.
Website Jalopnik recently asked Yamauchi about the status of the game, and he replied, "The discs are being stamped as we speak." Seems pretty straightforward, but the one thing that we wonder is if that's true then when is Sony (here in America, specifically) going to officially announce the game's release date? The company has promised it for the holiday season, but that's a broad timeframe from now until the end of the year. And we don't expect GT 5 just to appear in stores one day without an official release date announcement from Sony.
We have a call in to Sony, and we'll update you if it has anything to say on the matter.

I have one sentence to say about this;
"It's about time, guys."
Seems like Sony dropped the ball on development for this. It should have been a major launch title for the PS3. If its not something completely unreal then its a waste of time at this point. Lets hope its something either a standard of racing game perfection, or something new to see.
Can someone please explain to me the allure of Gran Turismo. Why does everyone think it is so great? Please explain without being cynical.
Games come out when they come out... and in the meantime, I have other games to play, so I am not one to complain about delays.
People like the game because of the depth of play. Also it is one of the best and most consistent games as far as graphics and overall gameplay.
I second that...(jeopardy theme).....
This is taking too long.
The Gran Turismo series has always demonstrated the best capabilities of the Playstation hardware. In my opinion it is the epitome of what a great console game should be; a perfect product when it is purchased. Not needing to be fixed and patched months after initial release. Too many game developers ship products that are nothing better than an expensive demo that gets patched every couple of months to fix issues that should have been addressed in initial development.
Man, I've been waiting for this 4 years...and i mean four years...not..oh well, you get my point
stamp it and ship it. Now get to it.
Pretty sure its street dated for January 1st, 2011. According to GameStop anyway.
I hope it lives up to the hype and wait meanwhile i will focus on all the new games releasing in such a short time.
Its about time. Can't wait to see how this game turns out.:)
The king of delays might finally come out now... sigh... please no next year... I have LBP2, KIllzone 3, Crysis 2 and Dues EX next year so make that game this year please...
Could it be?
GT 5 is never going to come out.
Stamp those discs FASTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I bet it's going to go gold next year, too.
