Nintendo Brings Back WiiWare Demos

Back in February of this year, Nintendo pulled the plug on trial versions of WiiWare titles. It seems they've had a change of heart. According to the company, these bite-sized versions of games "will be available for a limited time only ensuring the line-up is constantly kept refreshed to provide players with a varied and entertaining experience.”

This weekend, the first demos to appear were Furry Legends, Jett Rocket, ThruSpace, and Zombie Panic in Wonderland. Keep an eye out for more in the future.

I love the demos! They really help when deciding what game to purchase. Especially when I never even heard of most of the small title games.

I don't know why they would take away the demos? That doesn't make any sense at all. I would say at least a third of my gaming purchases have come from playing a demo.

They're only doing this because their numbers are dropping. Nintendo is looking very desperate now that the PS Move and the Kinect are dropping.....with HD.

Good move. That's your first step in the right direction, Nintendo. Now, work on your interface and online experience and you may have a shot at this war. Oh..and HD, what is this the stone age. What does a gamer need to do to get an HDMI port?

I don't understand their reason for pulling the demos in the first place. It seems counterintuitive to stay competetive in the market. I'm glad the demos are back because I'll be picking up the red Wii soon.
