Lord Of Arcana "Red Band" Trailer Shows Off Blood-Soaked Monster Slaying

When a film is too gross, dirty, or disgusting to have a regular trailer do it justice, oftentimes studios will create a special "red band" (i.e. R-rated) trailer that only appears online. This has never really been an issue with video games for obvious reasons, but that hasn't stopped Square Enix from creating a special "Red Band" trailer for their upcoming PSP hack-and-slash, Lord of Arcana.

The trailer shows some of the stuff you'll be able to do in the game when it releases next year, most of which is slicing up monsters in some form or another. Also, there's a lot of blood, so enjoy that.

  • Makes me wish I had a psp sorta.

  • I sold my psp...

  • This trailer has been around for months now.

  • Um, am I the only one who finds the gore unimpressive?

  • So they added 2d red blood sprite splatters that just ..appear...to a game that is probably half ass anyway to do what? Get people to buy it? It looks terrible.

  • *raised eyebrow* Eeeehhh... not sure about this one. Definitely giving off a Monster Hunter vibe. Not in game style, but... design decisions - you know, the bad part :(

  • Japanese gore is weak. When they can equal God of War, let me know, cause then I'll actually care.

  • just don't see why that was red banded. didn't seem all too violent to me. ohh well, might have potential.

  • I was going to say it looked horrible, until i realized it was for a handheld

  • That wasn't gory nor bloody. Talk to me when the have God of War equivalent gore. Also, it's just a Monster Hunter rip-off! Monster Hunter is great, but I don't think this knock-off will be good at all
  • looks good

  • The PSP has always had weak fluid effects, blood looks more like mist or smoke then anything else.
