The lights are on
My love of survival horror titles is shared my much of the GI staff. Many of us soaked up every hour of Resident Evil 5's cooperative action, reveling it what many felt was the first true co-op horror experience. DreamCatcher Interactive beat Chris and Sheva to the 2-player punch with the 2004 PlayStation 2 title, Obscure. It features a ragtag crew of high school students as they investigate the death of a fellow student and battle an evil that emerges within their class halls. Is this last generation title a thrilling test of courage or a boring back to school slog?
Join Andrew Reiner, Jeff Cork, and Jeff Marchifava and myself as we enter the dark world of Obscure, and stay tuned for the Replay Roulette afterwords. It really turns up the heat.

i like how there is a handgun. in an unlocked cellar. under the high school. im pretty sure their are laws against that.
Cough cough, Conker's Bad Fur Day
i like how most posts aren't about obscure. anyway, i thoroughly enjoyed it; one of the few titles i've played through to the end. wasn't great, but had all the staples of the genre, wrapped in a fun, campy tribute to teen slasher pix. never played co-op, which was supposed to be great, but the campaign was good. that said, i luv how people complained about the stereotypical characters and bad dialog. they totally missed the point.
The lesson of this Replay is if you ever want a cookie just light yourself on fire XD
"This is how I say I love you" - LOL :P
@ Steve Patriot: I second that, I would SO love to see that! You could call it the Lord of the Laughs trilogy. Part 1: The Fellowship of the Double Dash, Part 2: The 50 Rounds. Part 3: The Return of the Carol about Mario Party! Please do that it would be your guys' best work yet! It would also prove your love for your readers.
I was gonna buy this game once.
Stan looks like a younger Leon
Excellent episode. Oatmeal raisin cookies are definitely the best cookies ever.
Obscure looked pretty good. It had a lot of good gameplay features... minus the horrible characters.
I think this was the first replay where I got incredibly frustrated by the way you guys were playing...it was awful...Jeff randomly running around...not reading the directions of how to save that one survivor by running through the flames...I kinda upset with you guys hahaha
Well, I'm interested in Obscure, now, but Firefighter FD 18 looks like a huge test of tenacity. It doesn't look fun nor like an accurate portrayal of that line of work.
you guys suck at games...
I thought this game got a bad score....
Check that door for heat Tim?
I haven't even heard of Obscure until this replay. It looks great apart from the characters and dialogue. Co-op though just seals the deal for me. I love playing Co-op mode just to team up with a friend to take down some bad guys. Great replay, might I suggest The Bouncer (PS2) or Gauntlet: Dark Legacy?
lol i remember obscure. i dont remember liking it though
Obscure actually looks decent, I'm curious. And that Firefighter game looks EPIC =D
